Take A Step

I can remember as early as eight years old dreaming about being a quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines and throwing winning touchdown passes in front of thousands of people. Inside all of us is the desire to do something that stands out. Maybe you’re a sports fanatic too or maybe you’ve dreamt about singing in front of large audiences. Maybe you’ve dreamt about owning your own business or stepping into a position of leadership you feel is unobtainable. Huge dreams need big faith. And faith is not as mysterious as some would lead you to believe. Faith is simply acting on someone’s word.

The night Jesus walked on the water to the struggling disciples is a great example. Here they were on the middle of this dark and scary lake. Then here comes Jesus walking on the water to them. I would be freaking out. But somehow in the middle of this strange occurrence, Peter musters up the courage to say, ”Lord, if this is you, tell me to come.”  All Jesus said was “come.” With that one word, Peter stepped over the edge of that boat and began walking on water. Amazing! Peter stepped out on that one word “come,” acting on Jesus word, and we’ve been talking about this story for nearly 2000 years.

This is faith in action. Hearing Gods word then stepping out. Sometimes it feels scary when you take a step of faith. But the alternative is living in the should of would of could of. Why live there when you have greatness in you?

What is the word from God you are hearing that you can step out on today? How about this:

Romans 8:31:

If God is for us, who can be against us?

God is for you not against you. God is not mad at you! He is for your success.

2 Corinthians 5:21:

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

God made you in right standing with him. Not because you are perfect. But because Jesus is perfect. If it took our perfection to be right in Gods sight, then Jesus suffering on the cross was in vane. No way friends. God’s work on the cross through His son Jesus was totally complete for you. Now we can stand with confidence before God as His very own.

With this confidence, take a step with a new sense of destiny. Be that parent, athlete, minister, business man or whatever you are called to be, at the top of your game. Act on Gods word and go for your dream today.
